Miss Jennie Van Staveren, fourth daughter of the Rev. H. Van Staveren, Jewish Rabbi, Wellington, was married at the Synagogue yesterday afternoon to Mr. Albert Manoy, eldest son of Mr A. Manoy, of Motueka. The ceremony was conducted, by the bride's father and the Synagogue was tastefully decorated for the occasion. The bride was attended by her sistfers, Misses Addie, Sarah, Rosa, Re, and Rui Van Staveren and Miss Ailsey Manoy, sister of the bridegroom, each of whom carried a shower bouquet and wore a pearl spray brooch, gifts of the bridegroom. Mr. Leo Manoy, brother of the bridegroom, was best man, and the Messrs. Van Staveren, brothers of the bride, were the groomsmen. After the ceremony a reception was held at the residence of the bride's parents, Wellington-terrace. The newly-wedded couple intend spending their honeymoon in Australia, and afterwards taking up their residence in Motueka.[2]
She passed away in 1971 and is buried in Karori cemetery.
